The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) sent UK-based H Forman & Sons owner Lance Forman a warning letter on May 12 after the salmon smoker was found to have committed "serious violations" of the seafood Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP).

The FDA informed Forman that his response to the warning on May 19 was not sufficient for not discussing a revised HACCP plan, monitoring records or an explanation of corrective efforts.
