Chile’s aquaculture output in the year through October fell 15.9 percent year-on-year to 768,000 metric tons, according to data from the Undersecretary of Fisheries and Aquaculture (Subpesca).
Atlantic salmon harvests – which accounted for 54.2 percent of the total – were 417,000 metric tons, down 15.3 percent compared with the same period a year earlier.
Of this total, 250,000 metric tons were harvested in Region XI, Aysen, and 122,000 metric tons in Region X, Los Lagos.
