A total of 120,000 tilapia fingerlings were recently provided to the island province of Catanduanes by the Philippines Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), reports the Catanduanes Tribune.
The recipients, as well as representatives of the 11 municipalities, underwent an orientation conducted by the BFAR Provincial Fisheries Officer.
The provincial government has allocated funding for the rehabilitation and expansion of the Tilapia Hatchery and Nursery at Simamla to serve as the counterpart of the financial assistance granted by the BFAR.
