Perth, Australia-based Seafarms Group is on track to build the world's largest black tiger shrimp farm, and by the end of 2018 or early 2019 the company plans to make a splash in several Asian countries with its first products.

Dubbed Project Sea Dragon, the site will eventually produce 100,000 metric tons of shrimp across 10,000 hectares saltwater ponds at a vast cattle station in the Northern Territory.

The farm will include the development of a breeding program and multiplication center, a hatchery, a feed mill and grow-out ponds, plus a biosecurity, shrimp health and diagnostics center and harvesting and processing facilities.
