The Alaska Board of Fisheries is cancelling the tanner crab fishing season in the Bering Sea, reports Kucb.org.

Unalaska Mayor Frank Kelty attended the board amongst other members who made the decision after a last-ditch attempt to allow a limited harvest failed in a split 3-3 vote.
