ANACLETO ANGELINI, known to friends as don Cleto and one of the founding fathers of Chile's booming fishing industry, died in Santiago on August 28 aged 93.

Don Cleto was born in Italy, but studied engineering in Eritrea, Africa, where he spent World War II with brothers Gino and Arthur.

He sold salt, wheat and coffee, but ended up in a prison camp from which he escaped and returned to Italy in 1945. Hardship in Italy caused him to seek his fortune in Chile, where he arrived in 1948 aged 34.
