Vietnamese pangasius producer Vinh Hoan said earlier this month its board of directors approved the acquisition of 100 percent of the shares of Thanh Binh Dong Thap Fisheries JSC.
Thanh Binh has two filleting workshops with a total design capacity to reach 300 metric tons per day by the end of 2018. It also has cold storage and other buildings on a total land area of 79,148 square-meters.
There's enough vacant land to build another fishmeal and fish oil factory in 2018 to "fully utilize pangasius' by-products and to save cost," according to the letter Vinh Hoan sent to the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange on Feb.
