Sweden-based Fiskmastarn produces fresh- and modified-atmosphere packaged (MAP) whitefish and salmon -- products that fit in with Aker's strategy for Scandinavia.
“What Fiskmastarn was doing is actually very close to what we are doing, so I don’t think there will be much of a transitional period for either of us,” Morten Jensen, Aker's executive vice president, told IntraFish.
Under terms of the deal, Fiskmastarn’s operations will be managed by Aker Seafoods Denmark, effective immediately.
Aker Seafoods Denmark last month changed its name from Thorfisk to show solidarity with its parent company.
