As with other Chilean producers, 2015 proved a challenging year for Mitsubishi-owned Cermaq, CEO Jon Hindar told IntraFish in an interview earlier this month, but the executive said the industry has a bright future once the industry commits to better regulation.
Hindar, speaking with IntraFish prior to the recent strike action in Chiloe, declined to give exact figures for the company's results in Chile in 2015, but said volumes last year reached 88,000 metric tons for all three species of salmonids, up from 69,000 metric tons in 2014.
