Chilean representatives from the seafood industry joined several government groups to launch a project on Tuesday titled: "Strengthening the capacity of adaptation to climate change in the fisheries and aquaculture sector in Chile."

The Undersecretary of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Subpesca, and the Ministry of Environment of Chile (MMA) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) are involved in this project.

"Indeed, this phenomenon adds new challenges currently facing the fisheries and aquaculture, such as overfishing, habitat loss and pollution," Eve Crowley, deputy regional representative of FAO in Chile, said.
