Chile's President Michelle Bachellet named Pablo Berazaluce the country's new Undersecretary of Fisheries and Aquaculture, the ministry of economy, development and tourism announced Friday.
Berazaluce will take office on April 10.
He is replacing Raul Sunico, who resigned from the position earlier this year.
Berazaluce graduated at Chile’s Universidad Diego Portales and has extensive experience in legislation and public service.
He also has some past experience in fisheries and aquaculture regulations, and collaborated with the ministry of economy on the implementation of the fisheries laws 20,814 and 20,295.
