Chilean fishing company Corpesca is investing $55 million (€49.2 million) in the upgrading of its fishmeal and fish oil processing plants in the port city of Arica, Chile’s northernmost city, reports Economia y Negocios.

The company is planning to upgrade its facilities with the installation of odour reduction systems, and to unify the two plants the company has in Arica, Corpesca said in its Environmental Impact Declaration (DIA).

The renewed plant will have a capacity to process 500,000 metric tons of pelagic fish a year, and will cover a surface of 26,000 square meters.
