Kerala, India-based quick frozen seafood supplier Abad Fisheries opened a new dedicated shrimp processing factory in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh on the back of India's rapid expansion in vannamei shrimp production.
The facility opened its doors for trial production on Feb. 1, 2015, Anwar Sheraz, director at Abad Fisheries, which is owned by Abad Overseas Pvt. Ltd, told IntraFish.
It has a capacity of 40 metric tons per day and targets the production of head-on, shell-on (HOSO) vannamei "in the shortest possible time from harvest to freezing."
