A small-scale land-based shrimp farming project in Kuwait, Middle East, ishoping to make a big splash in the country's shrimp market, aiming to build upa shrimp cluster in the eastern Arabian country.
A brainchild of entrepreneur Tariq Altararwa, the land-based farm is lookingto produce around 80 metric tons of vannamei annually -- and "more than10" similar farms could follow suit if successful.
Construction of the first farm -- built up in a greenhouse with raceways --is slated to start this August, and the site will include a hatchery, a nurseryand grow-out tanks, Altararwa told IntraFish.
