Gorton, 40, formerly the executive vice president for business development, has worked for the company since 1989. She replaces Walley Stevens, who is retiring after 16 years. Her promotion was announced Monday.
Slade Gorton annually purchases more than 100 million pounds of seafood from around the world. The company has 200 employees and offices in Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Chicago.
