Maine fishermen hauled in a 40-inch lobster weighing 27 pounds last week – the largest ever caught in the state.
The specimen, dubbed “Rocky” had claws strong enough to break a human arm, reports Today News.
It was released on Thursday after being trapped in a shrimp net, marine officials told the news outlet.
The world’s largest recorded lobster was caught in Nova Scotia in 1977 and weight 44 pounds, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.
