Frozen seafood producer Marfrio unveiled a new range of heat-sealed packaging at the Conxemar trade show in Vigo, Spain.  

The new packaging close hermetically by applying pressure and heat to a film plastic, which acts like the lid of a container, Marfrio said.

The packaging will be used for several of Marfrio’s products such as its Patagonian squid, hake fillets, squid rings, southern shrimp (austral), seafood soups, mussels and ready-meals based on rice and pasta.

The success of Skinpack, a new container system which Marfrio used to pack ready-meals based on seafood and rice or pasta, showed that the convenience products are meeting the demands of the market, Marfrio said.
