When Matt Damon and Brad Pitt’s new movie “Happy Feet” opens in mid-November, their animated characters will be putting krill harvesting in the cross-hairs.

The movie opening follows the 30th Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) meeting, taking place Oct. 24-Nov. 4. At the meeting, governments will consider greater protection for the shrimp-like crustaceans.

In the past decade, fleets from more countries have begun to fish for krill, and according to Pew's marine conservation division, are now over-exploiting the resource.
