Pangasius exporter gets BAP certificate for farms, factory

Vietnamese pangasius exporter Vinh Hoan Corp. obtained a two-star Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification for its farms and processing plant in Vietnam.

The company will use its BAP certification -- developed by the Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA) and managed by the Aquaculture Certification Council --to further penetrate into the U.S. market.

Vinh Hoan, Vietnam's largest pangasius exporter in revnue, is already AquaGap and GlobalGap-certified for its farms, hatcheries, processing and feed plants. Currently, the company has five GlobalGap-certified farming areas covering an area of 90 hectares, reports VASEP.
