The administrator for German processing giant Pickenpack said Thursday the company would be closing down its frozen fish production facility in Luneburg, Germany.
The facility will be closed on June 30, administrator Friedrich von Kaltenborn-Stachau of Hamburg-based law firm Böge Rohde Luebbehuesen (BRL), said in a statement sent to IntraFish.
Around 400 staff will lose their jobs in what he describes as "hard cuts at Pickenpack."
Operations in Riepe will continue "until further notice" with von Kaltenborn-Stachau saying the sales process for the plant will continue and a deal is aimed to close by July 1, 2016.
