Based in the Pearl River Delta in the Guangdong Province, Shihai produced around 100,000 metric tons of fish and shrimp feed and had revenues of €65 milion ($88 million) in 2010, Nutreco said.
The company of 300 employees has grown by around 23 percent in the past five years and accounts for roughly 5 percent of the "high-end fish feed market" in southern China, the group added.
This is set to increased as Shihai has newly commissioned a new feed plant with a capacity of some 150,000 metric tons.
