The development, which will boost the site's capacity to nearly 150,000 tons, is the biggest undertaking by the company for a decade, spokeswoman Lillian Hoeivik said.
While the Stavanger factory is Skretting’s oldest, the upgrade should make it one of the world’s most modern.
“We’re expecting vigorous growth in demand for fish feed, so capacity is being expanded to cope with expected growth,” Hoeivik told IntraFish.
Demand for feed is not only being driven by salmon and trout, but by more investment in cod and halibut farming.
