Sysco Corporation has become the largest foodservice distributor in Canada to gain Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) chain of custody certification, with each of its 14 broadline distribution centers across the country now eligible to sell seafood carrying the eco-label.
As one of the largest purchasers of seafood in North America, Sysco has committed to working with suppliers to improve sustainability in the seafood supply chain.
In the United States, Sysco pledged to source all of its top 10 wild-caught Sysco Brand species from MSC-certified sustainable sources by the end of 2015.
