After the large fire a year ago at the fish factory of Canadian seafood processor Quinlan Brothers, the company said Tuesday it will test drive processing a small batch of snow crab in preparation as landings will start coming to shore later this week, according to CBC News.
The old plant processed northern shrimp, but the company did not rebuild that processing line, according to the news site.
Instead it will process snow crab and groundfish. Also, the new plant is more automated so Quinlan plans to cut back on the number of employees.
